History Buffs will love to peruse the antiquity that the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle has to offer. Named after Bucks County’s own Henry Mercer whom was a great historian and archeologist, the Mercer Museum offers a collection of handmade items and tools pre-dating 1897. By the 1900’s, handmade tools and apparatus’s were becoming nonexistent due to machine made tools from America’s Industrial Revolution. Henry Mercer embarked on a mission to save over 30,000 of these tools and built this large museum to display them for the public. Aside from the displays, the Mercer Museum offers many exciting events and exhibits. Font Hill Castle, was initially Henry Mercers home but now functions as a tile showroom and museum. Old York Cellars lies in the Sourland Mountains of New Jersey, just minutes from New Hope. They offer private group wine tastings, and many events.
